If someone tells you there is this small, no-nonsense cafeteria-style place in Hoher Markt (High Market) in the first district that serves the city’ best ice cream, don’t question him or her—head straight to that place and order the Malaga (rum raisin), hazelnut, pistachio, crème caramel and strawberry yoghurt flavors and be blissed out of your brain. The other place for seriously good gelato is the Eissalon Tuchlauben, but my husband and his sister swear by this one—and for good reason.
